    The frame rate is capped at around 12 frames per second and even then it dips into the single digits constantly, especially during gameplay. While Microsoft claims that the human eye is only capable of seeing 12 frames per second

    Its truely amazing how some people just to be different will dismiss a game because it makes them feel superior to the people that love it. I'm not a fanboy, i love PC games more than xbox games, but those scores at the bottom? bull****, 3 out of 10 for the best looking game on xbox is not correct. Compare it to Far cry or half life 2 on PC then yea perhaps. Why do pc users consistently compare xbox graphics and power to a PC? For god's sake its a console costing 150 euro. a graphics card to run half life 2 at a decent frame rate will cost a lot more than that.
    The xbox isnt trying to compete with the pc, its trying to compete with the ps2.

    I hate reviewers that dont realise that and just dismiss console games as inferior.
    Also he makes a point about how developers are just repackaging old titles. isn't that the whole point of sequels - if it aint broke dont fix it. I'd love to see his opinion on expansion packs - one of the major advantages of pc gaming. More of the same for more of your money. Yet somehow halo 2 is commiting a crime for this?

    Took the words right out of my mouth.
    Halo 2 is the fastest selling game of all time, there is a reason for this you
    now, namely that its a damn good game in its own right. Best fps on the xbox
    or probably any console for that matter until metroid echoes comes along.
    Im not a fanboy i just know a good game when i see one.

    ba da ba ba ba.... im lovin' it! so far. about half way through halo 2 and i think it's really good. people just had their expectations set way too high!
    although i dont think it will stand up to HL2. even the half life fans are sayin the second one is miles better and has been well worth it and the fans are always the ones who have the highest expectations. think microsoft made everyone think halo2 was gonna be even better.

    This is exactly what i'm on about. ITS NOT TRYING TO COMPETE WITH HALF LIFE 2!!

    Same ****, entirely different technology, platform, power, user base, everything.

    No offence but there is no comparison, half life 2 is a better game, but its not on the xbox.

    I really don't see the appeal of Halo.

    I bought an XBox with Halo 1 having heard nothing about it, and after I played it I thought "meh, its ok, not amazing". Then I heard all these people rave about it, couldn't understand why. Best FPS on a console? Doubtful.

    Fasting selling game ever = best game ever?
    Wrong.
    It actually equals good maketing and promotion, no matter what game it is. First time I've ever seen game adds inside buses.

    Now, I haven't actually played Halo 2, so I can't really comment on it but if the reports are true that its roughly the same as the first I probably wont go out of my way to play it.

    I'd have to agree. Got halfway through the one player game and got bored. Only play it in multiplayer now when people get me to play, it's decent in multiplayer but it's not a patch on specialised multiplayer games like Monkeyball, or sports games. Within the FPS genre it probably is the best, but that's only because there's very little good on Consoles. This and Timesplitters. Consoles do other things so much better.

    Have to say that I am a fan of both Halo games. Although they were a little easy to finish.

    Was disapointed on several fronts with Halo 2. The multiuplayer levels are a bit limited, plus you cannot customise your own gales to the extent that you could in Halo 1.
    There were a lot of cool new features and weapons, like the dual wielding, the new Covenant sniper rifle, and the Plasma Sword ... my personal favourite, but I can't help feeling like its just a regurgitation of Halo 1... I mean the continuation of the storyline was good, the new cinematic sequences were cool, but there were MASSIVE holes left ... how the Flood evolved, where the ***k did they come from, the whole rise of the Brutes could have been better too.

    Still the best FPS on the Xbox, and anyone who is interested ... I'll be organisaing a Halo 2 LAN session sometime in January, in Galway ... details to follow

    I'd agree with you on the 2 fastest selling front. But the thing that screams out 'great game' to me is the fact that it was in the top ten still nearly two years after its release - after the hype has blown over. Halo was a great game and halo 2 yes is more of the same. That is not a crime - i've already said - if it aint broken, dont fix it.

    So if we were (like you) to place any link to the charts and how good a game is, we'd have to come to the conclusion that the Xbox is a pile of crap, the PS2 is the best and all the best games are on it.

    PS2 fan/fanboys have an exclusive right to rant about the charts; an Xbox fan/fanboy should probably try to deny that there’s such a thing as the game charts.

    However, the conclusion we should come to is the charts should only be used as a guide to what games that were bought at retail in Ireland are selling best, and on what format.
