Has any body heard the last frames album, dance the devil?
Its amazing. They have got to be the most underated bands in the country. They are giging constantly and are fantastic live. The album got rave reviews but their record company ****ed up again so the boys left them. Their recording their 4th album now and i cant wait. It makes you wonder what other great bands are on our door step that we never hear about.
Yet the likes of westlife get air play!
    Its ****ed up. http://listen.at/theplateau

The auld radio is more to do with Marketing than anything else.

I heard an interview with the frames after the release of dance of the devil. They basically explained why they weren't huge and apparently they don't want to be huge. They are happy the way they are and have turned down contracts from record companies---- crazy stuff.

But i think they were your basic sell your soul contracts.
    They deserve more.

Devlins are something like that I'd say, great band but not the most well known.

God Yeah the Devlins are good "the rise and fall" (thats right isn't it?) is one excellant song.

but what about water cress. Another great band and they get no credit in Ireland.

The Frames DC are one of the most talented bands to ever come outta Ireland, if not Dublin (not sure where they all hail from).

They are a prime example of a band who sticks by it's roots and doesn't slip into the Corporate jungle of the music industry unless it's on their own terms, which is very hard to come by considering the state of ruin the industry is in these days.

Whatever happened to the contracts people got where they got their own studio, unlimited time there, and were expected to release materiel WHEN IT WAS DONE, as opposed to an album every six months....

Which brings to mind Bowie's contract, how did he get on releasing all those albums before 2000? (or was it 2001?). 12 or something?

Anyway, back to the Frames, great music, sound people...met Glen a couple of times, never actually saw them live tho, Definatly be making Whelans next time they play...

Frames and Devlins are 2 great bands. I've (unfortunately) never seen either live, but I'd like to. Someone post next time they're playing in Dublin!

    All the best,

I've seen the Frames a few times live now and never been disappointed.

They are an excellent live band, highly recommended.

A friends dragged me to this "little known band" ages and ages ago (I am *old* as everyone delights in reminding me) and they were astounding, we sat up all night in a dark flat talking about everything under the sun despite work the next morning. They're that kinda live gig.

    DeV.
