I am able to see only 2 :

246 = (3 rock )I belive ,,,as using navini dia tool shows it 9000+ meters away ( as i am on pearse street ),,,constant signal but only average 6kbs download time

140 = ( RTE ?) 5000+ meters away ..,,,not constant but have got 30+ kbs when downloading from some site.

    Does anyone know them ?

That site you mentioned is legal AFAIK. (it was the A**O*M**.com one?)

130 is a sector on RTE as is 140.
    246 is Three Rock.

I'm on Pearse Street doing three rock 146 as well Ace. Says I'm 10400 away from the base station and I get a much better signal from there than RTE. It's a bit mad considering we're both estimated to be way outside the Three Rock perimeter.

    Hi Tazz

I am based in the winter garden complex ( Holiday Inn ) .

After IBB did their re config last week ...the singnal from 3 rock looks to have got stronger ....still getting crap download speed ---9kbs from music site. :(

Was using 140 ....but my Wabbit (Ripwave Modem ) is not holding on to the signal from RTE 140 ....was getting up to ---34KBS on that basesation :) ..This must be because its closer and less people on it.

I think my unit is config to roam and get the best signal .... but 140 is not as strong as it was ,,so now my wabbit is always loging itself onto 3 rock.

Has anyone else noticed that 3 rock is not giving out a DNS gateway address ie (irishbroadband.ie ) when they ( IPCONFIG ) ..has stoped doing this after their the system maintence last week.

I wish there was a way to man select basestaions with out contacting IBB (ie via the navini dia tool )

I Fixed up a new ( Parbloic reflector ) last night ..( Bit of cardboard with tinfoil on it curved and placed just behind my unit ) great results = straight lines in both singnal srength and quality.

This ripwave lark my not be the best ,,,,but its never boring !

I'm just down the street from you in Westland Square, but I'm on the top floor so I think that's why I'm getting a better signal from 3 Rock. Still it can be really bad about 6-8pm for signal quality. I usually do downloads during the night. We're unlucky because of the area we're in really. I've had a few days in the last week when it's been unusable. I'm not a heavy downloader but I'm sure they've throttled my downloads on several occasions. Despite a strong signal and good quality - it slows to a crawl. If you turn it off for a while and then back on again, it'll go back to normal speeds for about two minutes then slows back down. The graph on the monitor indicates that something definitely is not as it should be.

But it's better than nothing, I suppose. Now if they'd only put a base station in the ESB site where they have the Breeze base station...

Just had another conversation with someone at IBB tech support, who was utterly useless. But he told me 140 was the Guinness High-Sight? Was he lying to me to get me off the phone? I always thought 140 was RTE?

Why cant IBB put the Basestation ID's on their site ,,,live areas list . o not see what the problem would be in doing it.

Tazz as for Pearse Street .....I wonder if they will put an West Faceing basestation on the new ODLUMS mill high site ...would fill in a black spot in an area where alot of new developments ...ie around Grand Canal etc.

Going to try some roaming this weekend ...as I will be in Blanchardstown ...will bring ripwave and laptop to test new blanch high sites.

Hope to get some good downloading done..!
