    Anyone know where i can get a free version of matlab or if they could email me a copy>??? would be much appreciated

    AFAIK theres no free versions anymore.
    There was a time (fadò fadò*) when they made
    the student edition available to students for free
    but the baxtards cut that out.

    If you are using Linux there's a programme called Octave. Being Open Source, they tried to reinvent the wheel, but this time make it Free (as in freedom). Don't really know how much it compares to Matlab though.

    Theres a free Matlab lookalike called SCILAB which is available for Windows. I haven't used it myself but a colleague uses it and gives favorable reports.
