Threads are locked entirely at the mods descretion. And so it should be.

For future reference, it would be nice if you were to air your grievnaces in such a way that we could respond to it as well, such as providing a link to the thread in question, and explaining what your grievance is.

and yes, a mod can lock whatever thread they want in their forum.
it allows us to have some semblence of control over the rabble, and turns us all into power crazed ghouls who salivate down our chins and masturbate furiously at the thought of annoying users.

well, i do at least, but im doing it on Trojan's behalf at the moment.

I went to the trouble of finding the thread you were talking about, and see no grievance whatsoever. The thread was in contravention of the charter. The charter usually sets out the type of instantly lockable thread that people will most commonly start on a particular board - in this case looking for help on a homework question - but should not be taken as an exhaustive list. Generally the charter system is there so people can't say "you never said it wasn't allowed", and it works very well, thank you.
