Two thumbs up, for 'All that you can't leave behind'

Its absolutely brilliant, all the real U2 fans will be glad theyve gone away from the pop/zooropa sound.

They have gone back to the Achtung Baby/Joshua Tree type music....and its way better.

U2 just arent U2 with Brian Eno and Danny Lanois!

Since when does a band having their own 'sound' mean they are unoriginal?

Just cos they dont change with every fad that comes in and out of teeny bopper land.

U2 have a unique sound, its suits theyre lyrics/bono's voice etc

As for greatest band since sliced bread?...i dunno about that, i just know i like them smile.gif

and imho, the singles that are released off albums usually arent the best songs, they are the songs that will get air time etc, so u shudnt judge the whole album on just hearing the one single.

And there are plenty of new bands that everyone likes, but that doesnt mean we have to give up liking bands that have been around for ages!

do you not get bored talking about U2 being the greatest thing since sliced bread.
they are ok, thats it. in fact id go as far as to say a lot of their music is boring.
this single sounds like thelast single with boyzone. and it sounds like the josua tree coz the have no more original ideas...
i suppose you are allowed to plagerise yourself arent you?

Its a great album. Pop and Zooropa were also very good but I'm glad they've changed their style back. Roll on the All That You Can't Leave Behind Tour '01.

Beautiful Day is a badly produced pile of shíte. Bono sound's like he's just after getting out of bed and the chorus has Edge screaming out of his talentless lungs...

Bono's vocal track starts off fine, but it gets so far behind the guitar mix midway thru it's not even funny.

Why would you bother buying the album after them releaseing a single of such poor quality.

Oh, and to make matters worse, the 'general public' love the song and made it #1 (Or was that just across the water?). There's no accounting for taste these days.

Please, if I'm wrong, and the album is better than that mess of a single, let me know here.

like i said before, i think the songs that are usually released as singles are never the best ones, they are the ones that will be 'popular with the masses', and get loadsa airtime.

They never release the more obscure/unique songs off an album, and they are nearly always the best ones.

If beautiful day is all you have heard off 'All that you cant leave behind', then the rest of it is well worth listening to.

    Bucon.
