    prime 95 - I think its used to find very large prime numbers, overclockers use it to stress test cpus, it basically uses 100% cpu power when the test is running and urun it for as long as possible, it tests the stability of ur overclock.Sandra has various tests for different hardware, used for general testing and shows specs of hardware
    MBM/Speedfan - Motherboard Monitor, it monitors things like fan speeds voltages , cpu speed and temps
    Cpu z - shows in depth info about your cpu, memory and motherboard
    Super pi - i think that is used to calculate pi, overclockers use it to test memory and cpu
    AtiTool - used to overclock ATI based graphics cards
    Coolbits - used to overclock nvidia based graphics cards

    ANd i dont really know about the rest, this is just a general overview, correct me if im wrong in any of the info above
