Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

With Derry v Glentoran passing off peacefully before 2,000 fans the other nite, a game with linfield now planned for the brandywell & the Setanta Cup between 3 clubs from both EL & N Irl league on the way can we have an all Ireland league before say 2010. Surely this is the way to move forward now that we have a bit of momentum going.
I remember both European & Texaco cup battles between my club Waterford & Linfield, Glentoran & Crusaders. Bits of trouble back then but great interest in it all the same.

I think an all ireland league would have it merits but draw backs too.

Were going to loose European places,
There will be problems with national teams (UEFA: national teams must have their own seperate leagues AFAIK)
There is no guarntee that the crowds wil increase

some of this has been discussed

Im not sure but I think there was a thread about this a couple of months back , I think its best and more practical to stick to just a Cup tournament .

The Sentanta Cup is going to be very important, if all goes well and there is a big turn out then there may well be a case for one all ireland league.
