Its the game that everyone has been talking about for the last week. Sky Sports have been running the TV advertisement as if today was judgement day and, for Fergie, many think it may well be.

Chelsea have their own problems though with claims this morning that Hernan Crespo wouldn't travel to Seville during the week when he was told he would not play.

Both teams are out for a result after the disappointments of this week, so who'll do it?

I can't see United rolling over like many are predicting but I think this could be another game where Didier Drogba makes the difference and scores the winner. 1-0 to Chelsea.

Today will be a good test of the current United teams character. Usually in such circumstances United come up with the goods. It's a big ask to beat this excellent Chelsea team but United Know thats what they have to do.

To be honest the result isn't as important today as the perforamnce and the commitment of the players. I expect a few changes to be made and Utd to play a high tempo game and close Chelsea down at every opportunity. Expect a few hard tackles to go in early to rattle the rent boys.

    A Chelsea win, 4-1

I can't see anything but a chavski win as uniteds displays this season have been poor while chavski have brushed most opposition away.

    chelsea to win. 2-0

    can't see drogba scoring.

    chelsea to win. 2-0

Its in games against the 'bigger' teams that Chelsea tend to keep it tight at the back, keep players behind the ball and rely on long balls up to Drogba.

Chelsea seem to have a hoodoo over United at the moment so added to other obvious reasons I'm struggling to imagine how United will win this one. I really hope they do though, Chelsea need to be beaten in the league to give teams a bit of hope.

It would be typical United to go and win this. And at odds at over 2/1 for the win or draw they are definitely worth a flutter.

But I just think that without players like Keane, Neville and Heinze they will lack the agression and charachter to pull it off. The midfield line up will be a complete mismatch in class. And I think the Chelsea midfield to boss the game will boss the game and score a second late on to make it a 2-0 win.

Hate to say it but alot of these games that are blled to the max tend to be disappointing. I'd love a match like the 4-2 United vs. Arsenal game at Highbury last year though.

    That was a cracker.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,117 ✭✭✭✭MrJoeSoap

I realise it wont be 4-5! Just cos Sky are building it up doesn't mean it'll be disapointing though!

    Fingers crossed.

United to win and not only lampard to be sent off kdjack (for 2 yellows) but john terry and drogba after the whistle for constantly complaining/abusing the referee. Mark my words!

rumours on some Utds sites that Neville will be back - can't see it myself but it would be a great lift. Just heard Poll is ref - expcet something controversial!!!

Maybe they've been keeping it a secret for the shock factor so when Chelsea see Gary Neville is back they'll just give up!

1-0 Chelsea. There'll be about 3 shots on target all game.

    I'll go with 4-0 Chelsea

3-1 Chelsea, with Joe Cole to score the last and it being a deflected shot .

So, Joe Cole to score a goal then! :)

I expect a very unusual game.
The logic would dictate it'll be about possesion, and couner attacks.
I expect this game to come down entirely on if Ronaldo Rooney and Van Nist play well.
I expect Chelsea to score, just through class, and not through a defenders mistake though. We have to win this game by scoring more.

Oddly I think Utd will do this

    1-0

    Ruud scoring.

Then again a 0-5 to chelsea wouldnt be too bad either ;)

As opposed to scoring as many or less? ;)

I can't ee Utd winning this one TBH, but I can see them getting a point. More important for the team is the need for a big performance from key players. In the long run that could have a bigger impact on Utd's season than the 3 points today.

on form utd sould loose by a real margin but the chelski boys ain't been having it all their own way a real pie in the sky game

Probably the first time in my life I've hoped for a United victory, albeit with injuries on both sides. :)

Thank God - I thought ESPN weren't going to be showing it for a minute. Then it was like someone flicked a switch, and the coverage came on! Phew.

Ronaldo I have to say is really irritating me especially when he was sprinting with the ball cross field , and took a little nudge. All of a sudden he is smack bang down in the middle of the pitch. Frickin overrated portuguese git.

That was just a reference to Fletcher been one of the player named by Roy.

Anyway as far as you are concerned its only a game. Remember you were the one who found last weeks hammering away to Boro a laugh

Afaik, Roy Keane was brought into the dressing room before today's match to inspire the team. He's in a win-win situation really.

Glad to see United score first anyway. That might make for a better game.

Now all we have to wait for is a 30 yard screamer from Lampard to equalise.

any way to see this without sky sports?

Anyone else think he has been awful so far? And don't get me started on Drogba, I don't care how many he scores, he is terrible.

So just because he scored a goal, he's a good player?

Yeah, it is only a game that's why I'm not jumping up and down screaming like in years gone by. I'll eat my eat if we win this.

Where did I say he was a good player?

Keane spoke out about a few players and notice the way the those named players that are playing are certainly holding their own out there so far.
