Anyone else think he has been awful so far? And don't get me started on Drogba, I don't care how many he scores, he is terrible.

I'm not watching the match (in work :( so only have text commentary to go on) so don't know how they're playing but when Chelsea go one down, Lampard usually pops up with a cracker.

If he is playing terrible, I'm sure United fans are hoping he's not saving himself for the second half.

United will have to be happy with that first half. Very few chances for Chelsea so far.

Smith has played very well, he's shut Lampard out of the game so far. Lampard or Cole will probably score with a deflection in the second half though!

    Indeed, the players
    Smith
Fletcher(who isn't playing great imo, just well. But what a finish)
    O'Shea
    Ferdinand

have been great this match, and were named and shamed by Roy specifically.
Ferdinand in particular has been a rock, with Drogba only get half chances.

    Terrified of the second half.
Chelsea normally come out in second halfs going nuts, and tend to attack like mad men.
Joe Cole I'd imagine will be replaced, by SWP.
Drogba might be replaced too, if Mourinho decides he wants his team to play football and into the feet, as Gudjohnson is much better at that.

When Lampard doesn't score people usually think he has played poorly , in actual fact it's the same Lampard as ever yet he simply hasn't scored .

Man Utd are playing very well but still look very shaky at the back. If Drogba wasnt playing absolutely awful then Chelsea could easily have scored has he is constantly being played through in Space. O' Shea is having his customary nightmare game with the ball just bouncing off him up into the air everytime it comes near him.

Utd are playing like they have something to prove which in all fairness they do. they are chasing everything down and not letting Chelsea settle on the ball. Smith is playing very well in the centre and is putting in some good challenges. Ronaldo looks ok but I think Ferreira did a very good job on him the first half.

Man Utd deserve to be winning at half time but they are going to have to tighten up at the back as Chelsea come at them in the second hal. ferdinand needs to tune himself into the game.

Anyway good match so far im enjoying it and I never thought I would see the day that I would be hoping for Man Uts to win but for the good of the league(and the fact I hate Mourinho with a passion) I hope they can hold on

Ferdinand has been caught out a few times only that Drogba is playing awful. He was at fault for the chance were Drogba was played in over the top which Van Der Saar saved. O' Shea has cut out a few passes but has gave the ball away and swipped at alot of passes that just ended up coming off the side of his boot and into the air. He needs to calm down and be more composed on it especially now with Chelsea going to come out all guns blazing in the second half

Ferdinand has looked good while passing the ball forward from the halfway line. On the other hand, when the ball is played into the United box, he looks as vulnerable as ever. The Drogba chance in the first 5 minutes was evidence of that.

I'd imagine the story about him refusing to travel to Seville because he wasn't playing may well be true. If that's the case, I'd imagine he'll be gone in January or Mourino will let him rot in the reserves, like he threatened Carvalho.

I don't think Grey is right
Its unlikely that Gudjohnson won't just drop into the midfield trio

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,117 ✭✭✭✭MrJoeSoap

    Eek! Great play by Duff.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,312 ✭✭✭mr_angry

    What a miss!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,117 ✭✭✭✭MrJoeSoap

Alan Smith being shown far too much leniency, how many fouls does he have to make before he gets a card.

    Great free by Drogba, ;).

United are dropping deeper and deeper - they just don't have enough quality in midfield.

  • Moderators, Regional South East Moderators Posts: 9,048 Mod ✭✭✭✭Aquos76

Poll is really starting to lose control of this game 4 yellow in as many minutes

  • Moderators, Regional South East Moderators Posts: 9,048 Mod ✭✭✭✭Aquos76

What a save. How many time this season has VDS done that for us

All yellows so far deserved imo.

Great save VdS, United have 1 shot on target, 1 goal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,617 ✭✭✭✭PHB

Jesus christ, Chelsea are seriously turning it on.
United need to pick it up, this is where Roy Keane would be perfect.
Nervy times for the premiership as a whole
