Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    F365's Mediawatch Has Its Say:

    It’s Officially Not True
'IT'S OFFICIAL - REDS ARE THE BEST IN THE WORLD'.

So shrieks the unassuming and understated headline on the official Liverpool website.

'The Reds are today sitting proud as the top team in world football', it adds in case anyone failed to appreciate the gist of the headline.

The modest announcement is, of course, based on the publication of the latest World Club Rankings by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics.

Yes, you know, the International Federation of Football History and Statistics.

Not shy of self-appreciation itself, the IFFHS (as they're called by Mediawatch’s drinking buds) report that their rankings are 'a precise classification showing the real level of the clubs free of any subjective influence' and are 'the result of a profound analysis that allows us to fairly report the level of international performance for each country.'

Such a thorough and fail-safe formula has certainly borne indisputable findings.

As a demonstration of their reliability, Mediawatch would draw your attention to a few other extracts from their latest rankings (for the period of 1st November 2004 to 30th October 2005):

Also-rans Chelski are ranked 12th, seven places behind ManYoo - English football’s dominant force over the past twelve months - six places behind CSKA Moscow, and just a single place ahead of a team called AZ Alkmaar (they're from the Netherlands, just in case you too weren't sure).

The trophy-laden Newcastle United are to be found in 17th. Serie A strugglers Juventus are just 19th.

Champions of nowhere Celtic are an impressive 29th. As you would expect, both Barcelona and Real Madrid fail to reach such a lofty placing. Other luminaries to be found ahead of the so-called Spanish giants include Shakhtar Donetsk and FK Austria Wien.

    'Profound' indeed.

I can't take anything seriously if it comes from Football365, because most of it reads like it was written like a seven-year old. 'Chelski', 'ManYoo'?

Mediawatch is the best page on the net, seriously, check it out over the next couple of days and you'll fall in love with it.
