im 20 and i want to apply for my own credit card a/c, i have a card but thats just an addional user on my dads account, im taking a year out before college and i haven got a job yet but ive very sufficent parental income plus i inherited 40 k last week so im sure i have sufficent cash to keep me going if i got a credit card,i basically want to start standing on my own to feet and give back the old mans card etc, im very used to having a card especially as i can afford it but now that i have extra cash i want to apply for a card with a lower limit cos i have a tendency to spend, i was thinking of a aib or boi student credit card etc instead of a full blown high limit card, but as im not in college for another year im not sure what to do any help or advice would be great,

if you have 40k in your account. that bank will be very happy to give you a credit card with or without a job. if you were a student you could get the cool mc2 card. Anyway there all the same if you pay your bill on time.

MBNA will give just about anyone a credit card. Try them.

and make sure you select the "pay 100% off" option.

If you have money then there's no point in paying interest to a bank if you don't need to.
