    Alice by Tom Waits is one of the best songs I've heard in years.

    EDIT: I think that might have been 2004, so I'll go with Ain't No Easy Way by the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - like Dylan doing In My Time Of Dying.
    'Til Kingdom Come by Coldplay and Who Put The Weight Of The World On My Shoulders? by Oasis are very good too.
