I've tried to download this for my powerbook. But after it downloads and I try to open, Graphic Converter opens and says it's a broken file and can't open it. Any ideas what's happening?

    What version (WMP and OSX)?
    Have you tried downloading again?

    I've tried the one here:

    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/software/Macintosh/osx/default.aspx

And I've tried it a few times now. I'm wondering do I have to download something else first.

Try VLC player -- it's very good, altho not 100% compatible with .wmv files (tho that doesn't affect me much ^_^ )

I have VLC player but still when I go onto some sites and try to watch a video it says I need Windows Media Player. Maybe I have to set VLC as my default player or something?

May be a silly question but have you tried dragging the file on to the application, on the dock for example?

The Windows Media Player installer for OSX is in a .sit archive. You need to download StuffIT Expander first, then open the installer with StuffIT, THEN click the install button.

It's a pain in the ass, but that's what you have to do.

Finally got around to doing that and it worked! Thanks.
