Hi, I was just wondering how I would go about getting a license for an air rifle or air pistol.

    Thanks.

First visit a target club ,
Have a look at the type of equipment used.

Having had an idea of what you need ..join a club.

Visit a gunshop and place a deposit on your preffered firearm

The owner of the gunshop will provide you with the serial number of your chosen firearm.

Take the "Bill of sale" to your local Gardaí and apply for a licence.

    Wait..and Wait .......and.........wait.!

When / if your licence comes through...visit the gunshop again .

Produce licence , and pay balance of money due on firearm.

Collect same and ammo ...bring home.

PS.. I'm sure Sparks will be along in a moment :)

Cheers for the info. One other question though, is it harder for younger people to get licenses? I'm going on twenty two, and I was wondering if gardai would have any reservations about age?

    No, not really .....

Just go through the steps and there shouldn't be a problem.
