Help needed to configure ATA

    Hello everyone,

I am having trouble getting my VOIP setup to work with broadtalk.

    My configuration:
    Broadband: Smart telecom
    Modem/Router: Aolynk DR814 router (non-Wifi)
ATAs: Sipura 3000 and Grandstream 486
VOIP: Broadtalk pay as you go

I have 2 ATAs configured with 2 different VOIP accounts(both with broadtalk).

My first configuration is with Sipura 3000, I can make calls through my Broadtalk account, but I cannot receive calls. Once in a while I am able to receive calls as well (without any configuration changes). When I use a softphone(Xlite) I can always receive calls.

My second configuration is with Grandstream 486
In this configuration, I can receive calls at times(not always) but more frequently than with Sipura configuration, but I am not able make any outgoing calls. Again with a softphone both incoming and outgoing are working fine.

I have tried disabling the firewall on the Router and still it made difference. Tried taking out one configuration, still the same.

Broadtalk doesn't have any recommended configuration for these ATAs, and their customer support isn't great either. So I used more or less the same configuration setting as given by blueface in their website with changes to sip proxy and user account details.

Is there anything I am missing here? Any help would be appreciated.

im using the grandstream 486 with blueface no problems.

I have also tried to configure for use with broadtalk - same problem - people can ring me but i cant make outgoing calls. Their webpage is a disaster for support settings.

Thanks podgeandrodge for that. It is really comforting to know that it is not just me having problems with Broadtalk.

I tried contacting their support couple of times. Their argument seems to be that if it works with softphone it is not their problem.

I fail to understand why they cannot spend couple of hours to figure out the correct settings for commonly used adaptors and update their pages like Blueface did.

It is the free Dublin number(for pay as you go) that is still keeping me with them.

yep, blueface did look at the possibility of giving a dublin number for pay as u go, but yesterday they confirmed to me that they wont be going ahead with it. At least they give the dublin number with 5 digit extension and at least it works!
