I received this today in the Dublin City Juggling Club email:

Hi there Robert Dunne is my name and I am aYouth Worker in Little Bray. On
Wednesday the 23rd March we are running a Youth Conference which amongst
other things will explore some fun alternatives to drug use for young
people. One of the things we hoped to do was to organise a Juggling
workshop for that Wednesday morning...If you have any interest in being
involved or know anyone that might be, could you please contact us at the
above email address [contact details followed in the mail]

He gives full contact details too. I said I'd ask some people and get back to him. I'm interested in doing this myself. If you are interested post here and/or mail juggling@peterdungan.net.

Juggling as an alternative to drug use? He obviously hasn't met many jugglers.

Hahaha yeah that's what I was thinking :D Oh well sounds like fun I'll listen out for it, keep us updated, cus I'm pretty close to Bray. Though I suppose I'm not techincally a youth. But screw it I can pretend I have a place there...

They gave the wrong date in the first mail. It's 23 November, not march. Also they're offering a tutor's fee. IIf it's in the evening I'd do it - but preferably with someone else who knows how to juggle. If it's during the day I'll be busy and anyone who wants to do it can pm me and I'll give contact details for the organisers.

here's the other email I got:

i work with the bray youth service, i got your
e-mail from the dublin city juggling website. We are currently putting the
finishing touches to our drugs awareness week which will run between the
21st and 25 of november. As a part of the drugs awareness week we are
holding a youth conference, the theme of this will be young people and
alternatives. The conference will be held next wednesday (the 23rd of
november). As we a part of the conference we were hoping to have a juggling
display, by which juggling and performance arts as a whole could be promoted
as an alternative, so i am contacting you in the hope that you could suggest
someone who could help us in this regard. basically we need someone who
could demostrate some juggling, nothing particularly complex, and then show
some young people (transition year students) some simple juggling. we
planning the display to be quite informal, it will be one of a number of
displays in a large hall, so it won't be run on the basis of a workshop. the
person will also have two youth workers with them, so they won't be stuck
for help or left on there own with a huge group of young people. we are a
voluntary organisations, but we will be able to pay a tutor's fee, if you
have any suggestion on this matter it would be greatly appreciated,

I can't do it because it's during the day. Anyone want it?
    email:

there has been a bit of a mix up, you actually previously recieved an e-mail
from a colleague of mine (rob). So anyway we need some jugglers for next
wednesday the 23rd of november (from about 10 a.m to 1 or 2 p.m.). if two
people wanted to do it that would be no trouble, but to be honest with you
it all comes down to what we can afford in our budget, but we can discuss a
fee with them. They wouldn't really need much beyond what they would
demonstrate with usually and really what we need them to do is demonstrate
juggling and show some basic juggling to any young people who might be
interested, so it will be quite relaxed and shouldn't be hugely demanding
    for them.
