Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Oh, are you writing a new file manager?

Sounds interesting. I'm the one who left the long rant about GUI vs CLI.

Windows explorer is the perfect file manager. Hats off to them. Redmond gets it right sometimes, and windows explorer is a shining example.

    Can't access that page. :(

As in the standerd WinXP file explorer? Tell me you're joking! It's far too frustrating trying to make it display your folders the way you want (DETAILS!!!) without reverting back to icon-view all the time (ARRAH!! I SAID DETAILS!!). And it's just not featured enough at all.

(can't get into the linked page either)

Sorry for the page not working. I was working on apache earlier and mistakes were made, theres no sense in pointing the old blame finger coz well I dont like being pointed at

I think you guys are right about windows explorer in some ways, its handy but we must all remember ITS WINDOWS !
Sorry if I offend any windows users but its just not my cup of tea, but each to his own :)

I share your pain brother. Not sure why they introduced this sillyness in XP. *shrug*

Anyway, here's how to fix it.....

    In windows explorer, tools->folder options->view

untick "remember each folders view settings".

Each time you start explorer you'll have to switch to the details view....but only once. Every folder will then be done with the details setting as default.

    Sorry for the OT lads.

why only linux? Wil it not work for the BSDs?

  • Registered Users Posts: 21 davestyle

Well there was one main reason I didnt add in any BSD's.
I wanted to wait and see would you ever comment, schrodinger....whoever you are. Probably some manor of criminal mastermind

Well I still think what I asked is valid, Will it work for the BSD's?

    Kinda like what Blacknight asked:

Don't appreciate personal attacks or blatant trolling.

    Thanks, but no thanks.

davestyle i think your project idea is not really 4th year standard. id be surprised if you can get any other job than working in the pheonix park at nights.

    WINDOWS RULES!!!!!!!!

Ban this troll. Those types of comments are not welcome on this forum. You have not backed up the reason you think his idea is not up to 4th year standard, and you have launched a personal attack against him.

    As for windows rules...

LOL this thread is getting very interesting indeed.
Person attacks and people loving Windows.....priceless :)

A huge big cheers to everyone who took the time to do questionnaire btw.
Think I have enough submissions now, yay!

I have no idea if it will work with BSD, it might who knows. Luck of the draw really.
