What age are you? 13 or 13 and 3/4's??? I have original hubcaps for it but they're horrendous looking. Good luck with the sale though...

Sacrilege. Who on earth would replace the Ro80 rotary engine with a flippin Ford.

It was a popular conversion back when... Presume it was the Essex V4 as distinct from the Koln V4

I,ve heard from a few German friends, that Ro80 owners would stand beside their broken down cars on the motorway with the number of fingers held in the air to show how many replacement engines had been fitted.

My new addition here in NZ. HJ60 diesel manual high roof with 190k.

Will be upgrading the suspension to Old man emu and when time permits, a new paint job in the same colour.

But of course keeping the decals...

What's the difference between an Essex and a Koln block apart from where they were made?

totally different engine....same differences as between Essex and Cologne V6s...

Ford conversion was almost universal on Ro80s. I've a feeling it's the German engine used , same as the SAABs used.

Saved this old girl as it was destined to go to the wreckers for parts. Transported her from Queenstown to Auckland. Needed a new turbo and other stuff. Have a white softtop on order for her so she will have a new lease of life :)

    Toyota Hilux I presume?
Looks in great cond (as is the Landcruiser).

    What year(s) are they?
Will they need much work to pass the WOF test?

Thanks. 84 and 87. Yep, Hilux Surf. Also known as a 4Runner. Passed already. Fitted a new turbo and the usual wear and tear items.

Is that a detachable canopy, I've not seen one like that before? :)

I wouldn't be much use in Ireland, by the time you've undone all the bolts it would be p***ing rain:D

I know you could get soft tops for the old landrovers and land cruiser, but did Datsun ever sell a soft top for the original Patrol sold in Ireland (just something i've often wondered:))?

    Bought this earlier this week

    It's a 1.7 with 55k miles on it. I'm changing the engine for a Renault 1.8 16v though.

Yep, detachable. Only the 1st generation models.

Had looked into patrols but couldnt find any softop suppliers. The earlier patrols did come with softtops alright.
