Collecting this on Saturday.. belongs to my father for his retirement, but I've already called dibs on some trips! Bought as a fresh import, It's had a total rebuild inside and out, pretty much a new van.

The Defender is an original irish reg February 1985. It was completely rebuild from scratch 4 years ago. Chassis, rear tub, bulkhead etc. are all original, but the cab and some body parts have been replaced with later TD5 equivalents and it's running a Mazda SL35ti engine these days. It would have been "born" with a 200TDi.

The Volvo TGB111AMT (or C303 in the civilian version) is apart from the body roll-cage and the camper interior completely original and build 1975.

    /M
Was beside ye in Molloys gettin some powder coating done and spotted the Volvo when I was there. Very cool indeed!

When you sit in it and it puts a smile on your face it's classic.classic status has absolutely nothing to do with age.

Here's a photo of my childhood dream car. Spotted it on the back of a transporter years ago. Made a few enquiries paid silly money in hindsight and spent that amount again plus on getting her back to her current condition. 10yrs of ownership and I still can't believe she is mine.

How do I post a photo?

I'm afraid you can't post a photo or a link until you have made 25 posts.

Looking forward to seeing what car is it, though!

    I don't have the image!

carcrazykieran - if you get a URL for the image (e.g. photobucket) PM me and I'll add it to your post. You might need to remove the http or www from the link when sending it.
