Xbox 360 Backwards compatability list

Up on the xbox website here:

Has KOTOR 1 and 2, Halo 1/2, DOA3, Pro Evo 56. Fable/Lost chapters, Ninja Gaiden/Black, all the GTA's.

They also support Brute Force, which I have, but never finished, so might give it a play through now

It's missing Panzer Dragoon Orta, Hunter: The Reckoning, PGR2, Timesplitters and Soul Calibur 2, so hope they get added.

Not a bad list all in all, and not as bad as the halo/halo2 list of before, but not as great as it could be.

Also, check back peridically before launch to see if there's any additions.

you can burn the updates to cd (read the Q&A), and load them to your xbox360, or MS will send you an updated cd for delivery cost (usually about €3 going by creative driver cd's).

For shame, especially when it topped microsofts own poll for games you would like to see compatible. There is an awful lot of rubbish there too. Would have loved to see PDO in Hi-Def and full FSAA.

Crimson Skies is there! nice one.
A bigger list than I expected at first, (IGN figured about 20 titles would be playable at launch), although there is some crap on there.
Jade Empire is there too, but no Conker (although I haven't touched that game since I got it)

Not many games hailing from Japan oddly enough (most of my games won't be working on the thing).

Microsoft say that there will be downloadable patches released over time for other games to be backwards compatible. They can be downloaded from live or burnt to a disc.

Most games, or at least most high profile games, from some date in the past have included code so they'll work on the 360, apprently.

From the review I saw, HL2 on XB already looks great, on 360 (even running through emulation) it likely stands up very well to current state of the art PCs (minus the multiplayer).

Oddworld strangers wrath
Panzer dragoon orta
Dead or alive ultimate or volleyball( although i dont own either of these i was tempted by the boobs

)
Psi ops
Destroy all humans
Conker live and reloaded
and possibly the biggest missing title is the entire Burnout series
Full Spectrum warrior

So i can play:

not too happy

I have also just noticed its missing the project gotham games.

So is the European list the same as the American one? They've released a list for the Japanese 360 that's much much shorter, I'm not sure why it would be different.

I don't have an xbox but there's a few games I missed that I was hoping to get and catch up on when I get a 360.

European one just out now, only 156 games on this one, but while I haven't gone through them both, Eurogamer claims there's no real loss (just some crap taken off it).
