Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Thursday November 17th :: Post-Prodigy Party :: Old Skool Rave-Up

Altern 8 - DJ set [Network Records - UK]
    + Jumping Jack Seven Bellies
    + DJ Cassette Tape Single

    Admission: e15 [Door] - e12 [Tickets / Members]

It's a Rave Alert! Full-On Mask Hysteria is coming to the basement of
Traffic for a exhilir8ing night of old skool classics to the core. Altern 8
(Mark Archer & Mark 1) will be in the place, in your face, full of bass for
what will be the perfect way to finish off a night spent with The Prodigy.
Altern 8 will be doubling up for a 3 deck, 2 mixer slice of rave madness to
devest8 the dancefloor. Original UK techno stars with their 'Nexus 21'
releases on Network (the Biorhythms comps in particular), Altern 8 muta8ed
into the first ever post-modern rave band with media attacks,
hysteria-inducing shows and press stunts like standing for election in the
UK! They are bona fide rave masters and as anyone who caught their live PA
at the Music Centre (or indeed The Mansion house!) will attest, this is a
proper fun night out - Vicks in the air, masks on the face, day-glo jackets
on persons - get on the floor and moooove your body! This is the sound of
    Altern 8.

Support on this night comes from Dublin rave veterans, the mysterious
waistcoat wearing raver, Jumping Jack Seven Bellies and DJ Cassette Tape
Single, reputed to have the biggest collection of bona-fide rave Tape
Cassette Singles in all of Dublin South West.

Tickets for the rave are on sale at Selectah Records in Temple Bar and
online at www.tickets.ie priced e12. It's 3 quid dearer on the door so do
yourself a favour and remember - if your name's not down - you're not
    getting in.

    note to Electric city.

If you have more old skool nights like that 1, Traffic will do extremely well. Altern8 we're fantastic.
A "Good" MC would have been cool, but I don't think there would have been space.
They played in there traditional style "Classic after Classic"

I think for dublin if you put Altern8 In a large club like upstairs in spirit (BTW I am not a fan of spirit's usual nights) it would be great, loads of room to dance, fairly decent sound system larger bar etc.

Traffic to me was a bit on the wee side - But lets be honest altern8 packed the place!!
I've never seen traffic downstairs so packed!! It was fairly shoulder to shoulder after 12.30!!

Dublin desperatly needs more proper old skool nights with proper old skool DJ's, Why? Gonna keep it simple:

    1) There so much fun
    2) They really attract large crowds
    3) The music (IMO) is far better than an awful lot of todays music

    My 2 cents
    CTRob
