He probably means getting Japanese symbols, rather than an actual full-on Yakuza-style tatt. Most of the common kanji tattoos (love, truth, all those kind of clichés) are the same in both languages.

My sister had a great idea of getting a tattoo of the chinese symbol for Cliché

But if I got it it'd just look like another chinese symbol...

DinoBot, you should try and get your hands on Written On Skin by Takashi Kashiwagi, it's an excellent showcase for Horioshi III and others work.

    Hi,

Thanks for the reference, very expensive. Got anywhere to get it cheap ??

Wow thats quite a price hike (especially second hand) since I last checked it, It was going for about 30euro new, looks like DHP have removed it from their site as well. You could ask santa claus for it :)

Santa has stopped coming to me a long-long time ago ;)

Anyone know the best place to get this type of work done in Dublin ?

Well they have three studios and they aren't that hard to find. Just wander round Amemura and I know one of them has the name painted in big letters on the outside of the building.
Can't remember bout the other Amemura studio and have never seen the Horie one. Hope they can help you out :)
