    Folks,

    Is a SACD 5.1?
If so, what's the difference between a SACD and a DVD-A?
If not, what makes it "super"?

    Cheers,

A lot of the time yea, but not always. It is much higher quality than CD though. A lot of SACD discs will have a 2 ch or a 5.1 ch option.

SACD's need an SACD player to be played (theres a lot of dvd players that have SACD on them now. AFAI DVD-A plays in standard DVD players as well as dedicated DVD-A players.

As for the super bit, its sounds better, and its just super :) Compact disc isnt so compact anymore with new technology around so its all subjective.
