Hubastank... although theres only really one good song on the album  much to my dismay.. But I love that song (The Reason)

Guns n Roses'll fairly send you over the edge if you're lookin to feel sorry for yourself aswell...

Hmmm Bette Midler I like too, few old tear jerkers on her album.. (The Rose always sets me off)

There are some really good ones there.

Agree that the Bends by Radiohead is uplifting in a strange way.

Someone mentioned the Smashing Pumpkins and have to say that "Today" is one of my fav songs of all time and if i hear it no matter how am feelin cant help being cheered up and sing at the top of my voice.

To stay down? Lacuna Coil, Slayer.

Oh God, about a thousand songs...
Most of them are crap ones that I only like because I'm depressed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,432 ✭✭✭Steve_o

I like listenin to Pearl Jam and Bob Dylan when i'm blue its nice cheer up music!! If i get too happy i listen to some Damien Rice, that usually throws me right back in the depths of depression and so the circle continues.

At the moment I'm listening to deftones b-sides and rarities esp change (in the house of flies) acoustic and the cover of please please please let me get what i want, cheer me up, for different reasons.
Normally its a mix of Elliot Smith then a dose of Pantera or Helmet to blast any remains of feeling down away.

Either my 'sad songs' playlist (30 songs, ranging from the LotR soundtrack, through Aimee Mann, the Pogues, Sinead O'Connor, Damian Dempsey, Christy Moore, eels, Jeff Buckley and Alison Krauss)

or else just OK Computer. Still my all time favourite album.

But if I really don't want to wallow, it's got to be Queen! :D
