Planning to hiring sanders to sort out a few floors and am considering a white woodwash on one of the floors (have seen that you can mix emulsion to water for the woodwash) and varnish over.

Just looking for advice on procedure.

Ya know the way after sanding you'd put on first coat of varnish then sand again with fine paper before applying other coats of varnish, well would plan of action for woodwashed floors be to:
    - apply woodwash then lightly sand or
    - apply woodwash, apply first layer of varnish then lightly sand

    Thanks

Would you not be better to lye the floor than oil?
you can get stains from Biofa in Clare, there is one called the Lars mix which gives a white finish.
