For those of you not subscribed to the emeraldcircus yahoo group there has been some developments in the last week about possible juggling conventions...

    Deirdre

    From Nicky (in Belfast)...

    About the Belfast convention thing:

Although I recently said it was unlikely to happen, now the tables have turned (unexpectedly, hence why I now sound like a complete hypocrite) and it's looking a bit more probable.

That's all the info for now though, no dates or anything as we don't have more than that ourselves.

    Nicky

(on behalf of Nicky, Alastair and Colleen)

    and in Sligo...

there may be a convention in sligo in january, there are alot of
things that may make it not happen but first things first would any one
want to go? cos theres no point in having a convention with no
jugglers. what do ye think? is january a good time? and is sligo a good
    place? its up to ye.

    (and further details given today...)
the convention will be in sligo town if its taking place. im not
making any promises, i still have to talk to the heads but its looking
    promising. ill keep ye posted.

    Dee...

    Hey guys!

You probably already know this but a lot of jugglers passing through Dublin have been looking for info on the Belfast Convention so I thought I'd see what I could find out!
It was supposed to be on the 16th of December but has been postponed.

    Info I have received:
    "
As for the Belfast convention... it seems like it's happening in February now... but I'm sure more details will be posted as they become available.
The Belfast circus school runs adult training classes on a wednesday night (from 7-9pm). It costs £3 a night and they mainly focus on circusy-skills - like acrobatics, juggling, trapeze etc.
    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
it is confirmed as the second weekend in Feb so thats the 10th
    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
been checking out hostels and so far theres two that will offer concession if you mention the convention (more on that as it progresses) "
    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Check out this URL:http://www.homeofpoi.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=504233
    for info!

Some of you guys are probably the ones writing this on this site but I thought I'd email just in case!

    See you all tomorrow night!!!

    Yours,
    Emma x

again posted by Nicky to emeraldcircus...

    Dee

    Hi,

We're pleased to announce there is going to be a
juggling convention on in Belfast from February 10th
    to February 12th 2006.

The location will be Queens University which is in a
nice area of Belfast just outside the city centre
(Queens area is where most of Belfast's night life is
    anway).

We have a good sized hall in the students union for
    the following times:

    Friday 10th:
    7pm till close (~1.30am)

    Saturday 11th:
    10am-7pm

    Sunday 12th:
    12pm - 7pm

The rest of the convention details will follow shortly
as they get confirmed. We hope to have a venue very
close to the hall for the Saturday evening for
    show/entertainment stuff.

There are hostels very close by Queens and we are
currently arranging stuff with them or you can of
course book yourself if you want to go the convention.
The closest hostel is the Ark hostel, their site is:
    http://www.arkhostel.com/
though there is currently no info there besides a
    contact.

Do *NOT* book in Linen House hostel as this is not
close to the convention, is crap anyway and in a crap
area as well. There are also lots of B&B's and stuff
near Queens in addition to the hostels close by.

Just trying to give as much notice as possible. More
info to follow soon though feel free to ask anything.

    Nicky,
on behalf of Nicky, Alastair and Colleen
