    hey guys..

im currently doing a project in college at the mo and im pretty stuck for resources regarding my materials.

one of the aspects of the project is that i have to use opposite materials in my work.. (one im currently doing is ink and bleach)

but i need alot more examples..tried water with oil but didnt turn out the best!!

anyone have any good examples of opposite materials i could use? (my illustration that im doing has got to do with sea pollution.)

    thanks guys :)

Using melted wax could be quite interesting for the water, you can mix oil paints through it to get colours. Possibly using resin aswell? Erm, broken glass, with wood.

They mightn't seem 'opposites' but you could compare the hard and soft textures of each?

Actually, while I'm here, and somewhat on topic - Does anybody know how flammable canvas is? Or anything about flame retardant gel? Was asked to do 2 Largish paintings, and have an idea...not too sure if it'll work though!

    Teddi,
you could try wood/timber and polystyrene.

Fajitas, mslfirecheck.com do a fire proofing spray for fabrics.
