Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Deserved it over the course of the season and deservedly champions. Derry needed a performance and couldnt do it when it mattered. Cork did it every other week winning games they "had to win"

    Well done.

The best ever in sporting history. Not the result but the whole atmosphere at the game. Before, during and after. What a night!

I've been to a lot og games in all sports but this tops them all. Muster finals, All-Irelands, Five-Nations games against england etc. There was nothing like the atmosphere in The Shed last night. Unreal.

There was people queing up to get in at 5 o'clock. When they did open open at 6 the place filled immediatly and by about 6.30 The Shed was in full voice until about and hour after the game ended.

Where else would you have suppoters chanting for over 4 hours.

The place was packed. Well over 10,000 at the game. And had there been a bigger stadium it could have been twice that (not exaggating). Unreal!

The early goal made it. The place went mad! And when they scored the second, in front of the shed, the place went competely la la.

What made even more special, and it well proably never again been seen in sporting history, and also shows the great respect between the suppoters at CCFC and the player was when the players came up to the shed with trophey. They stood on wall in front of the shed and really thanked us. You could see it meant al lot to them the support. But not only did they just thank us, they actually came up into The Shed and sang with us. Absolutley brilliant!

You should have seen it. At lot of them stood there and watched City at one time or another and know the score. You could see that by the way they played. They wanted to win, not for themselved but for the fans.

But the best of all was the shook on there faces when The Shed broke out into the "Stand up, Sit Down, Jump up for Cork City" chant. They have seen it no doubt but proably never really took that much notice of it while playing (just as well really). But they were amazed to think that this goes on at every game. It is an amazing site to The Shed, all 1500 of them siitng down in the middle of the chant.

So Long Shed. Thanks for the Memories!!!!!

Fair play to Cork, deserving winners, but we wont be so easy to top next season :)

Derry just didn't show up but still, a stunning season for them anyway.

Didn't see the game, but congratulations to Cork and their fans. :) Do us proud in the Champions League next year! We'll keep the Intertoto spot warm for 2007! :D

I don't follow the Eircom League but congratulations to Cork and to Sligo Rovers as well. Shelbourne were many people's tip for the league at the startof the season from what I know of the EL and Cork and Derry did well to make it a three-horse race.

I was in Sligo for the graduation last weekend and everyone from the people in the pubs to the taxi drivers were listening to the game on the local radio to see how they were doing!

Congratulations Cork City for becoming champions. Completely deserved and they proved me wrong since I said I thought they were going to bottle it.

Also must say well done to Derry City for a sensational season. To go from 7th place in 2004 to going within a whisker of winning the title the next season is an outstanding feat.

Also a mention to Sligo Rovers on a deserved 1st Division title victory and promotion.

You know so many people and especially the barstoolers take a great kick out of knocking our own domestic league but when you see such an exciting title race and an excellent season on the pitch from the eL they have no right to knock our own league. Forget off the field matters, on the field we have a great product with so much more potential and with Cork, Derry and of course Shels as strong as ever I say here's to next season and what will hopefully be another superb season.

    Premiership... eat your heart out!

The highlights will be on eL weekly tonight on TV3 and I'll most likely be uploading them here anyway at some stage today/tomorrow.

The whole place was buzzing all day. people couldn't wait. There were Derry fans around the City all day singing and chanting. It really added to the atmosphere. They are really a great set of supporters. There was great banter between the two sets of fans, and absolutuly no anamosity. Just two sets of supporters enjoying a great game.

Fair play to the Derry Supporters!

Just want to add my congratulations to Cork City on the league win.

Ye were the best team in the country this season, and deserved to win the league.

    Well done.

Being a band-wagon Cork City fan i was fairly chuffed. Over the course of the season it was deserved.

Hopefully complete the double this season, then wrap up the treble next season with a Cahampions league win!

hey, if liverpool can do it then Cork city must have a decent chance!
