    About to setup MCE tomorrow on a living room quiet pc.

    Question - is it possible within MCE to put the pc into hibernation/sleep mode for a few days when in work or not using it but the pc being able to awake itself to record a program ??

    Yes, my media PC will turn itself on for scheduled recordings, and then switch itself off 15 minutes after the recording has completed.

    Ideally all components (Motherboard, network card, etc) should support S1 and S3.

    Specs wise, its well up to scratch.


    No mention of what graphics card you are using....fairly important if you want to make the most of MCE. Nvidia seems to support widescreen res's better. Ideallu have 128MB of texture memory for HDTV content

    No mention of what tv card you plan using either, the Hauppage PVR500 has dual tuners. This means that you can watch a station, while you record another. Drivers were an issue at an earlier stage for this card, but this seems to be sorted now.
