Search function timeframe

Okay, I know search has been disabled for a couple of months now and I know it's being worked on, but can someone give an approximate timeframe as to when it should be operational again?

I don't think we are going to get the search back until someone figures out how 50,818,261 posts can be spread out to form 2,054,852,002 threads? That is at time of this post. By my reckoning that is means there are 2,004,033,741 phantom threads with no posts on the database. That's assuming every other thread has only one post. In reality there must be many more phantom threads. Not good at all.:(

The indices are seriously borked with massive crosslinking/duplication by the look of it.
