    The restaraunt in the Harbour Hotel is quite nice.

    There's also La Rosetta or something down in Salthill, across the road from the Bank of Ireland.

    Swanky - By this you mean resturant as opposed to pub?

    Theres a place on Mary street called "billy bobs steak house" - Had foof there before it was nice, not too expensive. Kinda swanky but not OTT, you can make a bit of noise etc. Also they sell booze

    If you want to get a bit swankier try Oscars on Domnick street. Be warned its expensive, but absolutily delish, you pay for what you get. They also sell wine/beer... and theres a strip club right across the road :)

    Anton's, Across from Supervalu on Fr. Griffin Rd.
    Apparently very good food - if a slightly limited menu.

    To be blunt about Oscars...

    Its fancy. Pure fancy. But its worth every penny you'll spend there tbh

    </end bluntness>

    You will not beat Nimmo's upstairs on the food front...it's THE best in Galway, but not too cheap (~€50 per head with wine). It's a wine bar downstairs with slightly cheaper but just as good food. Limited bottled beers though - mainly wine.

    Right, well had an absolutely fantastic meal in Vino Mara. Worked out about 22 to 43 euro depending on i you got an early evening meal or regular evening meal... both were 3 courses and the ood was easily the best I've had in years...

    :D 5stars
