Ok I have a few bits that I could do with pricing hope this is the right place:

    AMD 3200+ socket 939 stock @ 2.0GHz, tested to 2.7GHz stable.

AMD 165 Opteron CCB1E 0609FPMW, with IHS removed for better cooling/overclocking. 1.8GHz stock.

    2 x 1GB Samsung PC3200 DDR RAM 400MHz.

    ATI X800GT 256MB.

    2 x 1GB OCZ PC4000 DDR500 Platinum EB

Im thinking of getting a new computer, so i figured that my choice is probably gonna be influenced by the value of these:

    iMac 1.8GHz PPC G5, 600MHz Bus Speed
    512mb RAM (upgradable to 2GB)
    75GB Hard Drive
    DVD-RW
    20" LCD Display
    2 Firewire ports (400 i think)
    3 USB 1.0

    G3 MacBook
    17" inch display
    25GB hardrive
    512 RAM(i think)
    With charger
Screen connection broken, easy fix, in otherwise perfect condition

    First Generation iPod Touch 32GB
    Perfect Condition
    No Box

4GB Blue ipod mini(1st Gen) needs replacement Battery

    60GB Black iPod photo
USB connector broken, but part could be taken from mini?

Thanks to anyone who takes the time to price all this!

I reckon you could get around 150 for the iMac, 50 for the Macbook and a ban for trying to "sell" pirated software :)

Using http://www.mac2sell.net/ im getting around €450 for your imac. The values are fairly accurate but i have heard people saying they are a bit low from time to time. Try it for the iBook and see what you get. They'll shift on adverts.ie i'd say fairly quick.

Looks like your doing a serious clean out for your new system. Mind me asking what your thinking of?? New iMac?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,165 ✭✭✭insinkerator

yeah im thinking of a new iMac. The way i see it, my mac currently needs new memory and an external HD. Its gonna cost me about 250 quid to do it right, so the way i see it is, if im gonna spend that much anyway, why not try and offload all my junk and get a new computer altogether.

The cheapest model is €999 so its a lot of cash to stump up. I went in to my local applestore to see if they take trade-ins, but he said they prefer not to, so i guess a private sale is on the cards. I may consider going up north for the purchase, but it'll be a while before i can get the cash, so the exchange rate may be gone back down by then.

Also, local mac store is quoting me 40quid to put a new battery in the mini. Is it worth it? would someone be willing to pay more than 40 quid for a mini?

Hey, just curious how much people would value my laptop at... I'm heading down under in a month, so will be getting rid of it, looking for a decent price...

    The specs:
    Dell Vostro 1500
    15" widescreen
    Vista Ultimate
    Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 @ 2.2 GHz
    2GB RAM
    Built in webcam & bluetooth
    SD Card slot
    NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT
    150 GB Harddrive.
    A nice laptop bag
All the relevant discs and such.

Is there anything else I need to add to this??

I'm thinking of selling my PC and building another from scratch. Want to move up to DDR3 memory and quad core. Have an old one to use as a spare til my new one gets built. So how much would this be worth.

    Thermaltake Armour case
    Asus Striker Extreme, nForce-680i SLI
Intel 6700 Core 2 Duo overclocked to 3.2Ghz
    Zalman FATAL1TY CPU Cooler
    6GB Ram (3x2GB OCZ DDR2 PC6400)
    XFX GeForce 8800GTX 768MB
    OCZ 850w Power supply
    2.64TB Internal Hard Drive;
    640GB (2x320GB Samsung spinpoint RAID 0)
    1TB (2x500GB samsung spinpoint)
    1Tb Samsung spinpoint
    Vista Ultimate 64Bit

    Thermaltake Armour case - 60
    Asus Striker Extreme, nForce-680i SLI - 60
    Intel 6700 Core 2 Duo overclocked to 3.2Ghz - 70
    Zalman FATAL1TY CPU Cooler - 25
    6GB Ram (3x2GB OCZ DDR2 PC6400) - 60
    XFX GeForce 8800GTX 768MB - 130
    OCZ 850w Power supply - 110
    2.64TB Internal Hard Drive;
    640GB (2x320GB Samsung spinpoint RAID 0) - 50
    1TB (2x500GB samsung spinpoint) - 90
    1Tb Samsung spinpoint - 70
    Vista Ultimate 64Bit - 100

A quick estimate. You have a weird combination of some really good and some near-obsolete stuff there.
The board was high-end some time ago, but now the fact that it cannot work with 45nm quads makes it a bit of a bad investment.
The CPU is solid and very good, but there are cheaper, better and cooler ones out now.
Your RAM config (3x) is unusual.
Your GFX and PSU are more than decent, imho.
Tricky situation with HDDs, especially considering that it's the part of the computer that wears off the most. A new Spinpoint 1Tb can be had for around €75-80. You can get a 640Gb single platter disk for like €60. The 500Gb ones can be found at under €50/each.
The OS depends on whether it's retail or OEM, but still it doesn't involve any "usage" and wear-off factors.

if someone would be so kind as to give me a guesstimate.
It's pretty much a hodge podge of various new/old computers stuck together to make 1 system, lol.

    - Northwood Pentium 4 2.8GHz
    -- Intel D865GLC Motherboard
    --- NEC DVD +/-RW 16x Burner ND-3540A
    --- Lite-On Cd-Rom drive
    --- Floppy Disc Drive
    - Genuine Windows XP Home SP2
-- N4CE ATX Case with side window and blue LED Fan and 350W PSU
--- 1GB Infineon Dual Channel PC 2700 DDR RAM
    - Radeon 9600 Pro - Gigabyte GV-R96P256D

    Also throwing in a Radeon 9800Pro - GV-R98P128D

(The fan burnt out, but maybe it can be recycled somehow?)

Not much. 100-120 really would be the going rate. A 9800Pro with a bust fan is pretty much worthless, a new fan would almost cost as much as the card would be worth in functioning order...

I have a 19in Samsung SyncMaster 930BF that I'm not using as much as I used to (have another one and a nice LCD TV so ..).

lol, I guess she is getting on a bit now.

Oh well, off to the recyclers it is then, or maybe I can find one of those charities for needy kids/schools etc.

    cheers BTW
