    Maybe €300 sans OS terry.

    If you were selling, split.

  • Registered Users Posts: 26,061 ✭✭✭✭Terry

    Hmm. About €550 to build.

Won't be selling it on adverts then. :)

    Exactly what I was thinking.

They're all quite cheap new, and are now second-hand.

I think my valuation is realistic.

    2GB DDR2 €40
    640GB HDD €48.72

13 in 1 card reader (Memory Stick, Memory Stick PRO, MultiMediaCard, SD Memory Card, Memory Stick Duo, Memory Stick PRO Duo, RS-MMC, MultiMediaCardmobile, MultiMediaCardplus, SDHC Memory Card, Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo) not even going to price because it adds nothing to the value of the PC really. And they're dirt cheap.
    Antec 2450p case + 450W PSU €84.53
    Windows 7 home premium. €91.20

They are all brand new prices from Dabs.ie, apart from CPU from Pixmania.

    Total = €427.47 Brand new
    You got ripped.

As its now secondhand, you can knock around 25% off, leaving a price of €320.60 INCLUDING the OS.

So I reckon I was pretty much SPOT ON with my valuation. In fact, I'd valued it a little high as I'd said 300 without the OS, where it should actually include everything.

Just upgraded and have someone interested in my old componenets which are as follows:

DFI Lanparty ut nf4 (I think, was the one below the SLI version)
Athlon 64 3200 winchester chip with xp90 cooler
2x512mb matched pair of OCZ (game extreme?) 2-2-2 timing is all i remember
    8x nec dvd writer
ati x800xl (with arctic cooler type heasink/fan on it)

I think thats it, no psu or case to go with it. Was thinking 150 or would that be to much?

Ah you might get 100-150 for it.

Was a sweet machine around 2005/2006 - I had something similar. 3000+ Winchester and a Lanparty NF4 Ultra D (thats the board I think you're talking about).

It could be modded to work as SLI & SATA300 with a simple pencil mod on the NF-4 chip :)

    Dabs don't take Laser. :(

Also, i meant to remove the part where I said t didn't include the os. It actually did.

    But they do take paypal.

You gotta be smarter with your money when buying computer parts, as there's such a huge discrepancy in price from different suppliers.

Especially when buying lower end parts, where I've just shown you could have saved 22%~ on your machine (which is huge considering the total cost is not that high).

Its a pain to realise (I've been victim of making stupid purchases myself and losing money on it) that its best to shop around, and avoid Irish retailers who are charging WAY over the odds for parts.

Yep. Unfortunately PC/Laptop equipment depreciates in value rather quickly

I'm wondering what a fair price would be to charge for the following beast.

    AMD 3700+
    1GB RAM
    250GB HDD
    ASUS SLI-Delux
    7600GT
    Case/ PSU combo.
    XP (inc disk)

I'm assuming it will be less than 1K? :P
