For all the people who don't read the IrelandOffline forums it appears that eircon are going to finally upgrade upload speeds. Taken from this thread from damien.m Not bad but this was needed a long time ago. They will occur during January.

Your downstream line attenuation / 13.81. I don't know how "official" it is, but in my case it seems to be fairly accurrate.
34 / 13.81 = 2.461 KM

How far out are you?

6.5 km. It's a close call but ADSL should be able to work unrepeatered from what I can tell (look at BT).
