Hastily packaged to capitalise on the recent reunion of the 'classic' Anthrax lineup and 20th anniversary of the band, this package contains one DVD filmed early into the reunion tour and one CD featuring the most of music from the DVD.

There is little to complain about here, to be honest. The set list can't be faulted, featuring songs from all aspects of pre-Bush era Anthrax. The sound and picture are crystal clear and the whole thing is well put together. The intro to Among The Living, which opens proceedings, still manages to raise the hairs on the back of my neck. The band tears through a set featuring pretty much everything you could wish for from Belladonna and co, the band is tight, the crowd are up for it and it sounds energetic and raw like a good live album should.

The DVD features a rather poignant documentary covering the entire history of the band, though glossing over the Bush years. It ranges from stirring to amusing and has a fair share of Spinal Tap moments, largely courtesy of Danny Spitz.

It's not all a bed of roses, however, there are songs missing from the show and the CD features music not featured on the DVD and vice-versa. Also, rather bafflingly, Lone Justice is included on the DVD and an extra, rather than left as part of the main show where it should have been (and is on the CD). I don't understand why they could leave the show intact for the DVD at least. This production tinkering takes away from what is essentially a very solid release from a band who have put out quality Metal consistantly for the last 21 years.

This release is a pleasant nostalgia trip for those like myself old enough to remember it first time around and a fantastic introduction for those seeking to see what the fuss is about. It is stupidly overpriced (as usual) in the Dublin shops but it definitely worth a punt from one of the online retailers.

    4/5
