I'm looking to replace a damaged front left wing of a '98 Ford Fiesta. Does anyone know roughly how much I should expect to pay? If i need to spray paint the colour is it going to cost a lot more?

    Scrapyard m8.

The cost can vary depending on where you get it from/condition.

The phone is your best bet.

Its not clear from your post if you are going to attempt the work yourself. A new replacement wing from Traynors is €24, €60 from your local auto factor - don't go to Ford. A 1/4 litre of paint will cost €33 plus vat and then lacquer will cost €40.

The wing is welded in eight or ten spots and bolted to the door frame inside the arch-liner. You need to drill the spot-welds off with special spot-cutter drill bits. For a bodyshop to replace it expect to pay €200 or so depending on the type of place you go to.

Stick a pic up and I'll tell you if it can be fixed by filling and spraying. Buying a wing from a scrap yard isn't a bad idea so long as you get the same colour and the person taking it off is careful not to bend it - they never go on quite right but you'll save a packet.

Would agree with interceptor that scrap yards would be your best bet. Phone around a few places. I done the wing on an Escort last year and called a breakers yard in Gorey. They had one for 25 euro. Drove down and guy said because it was so quiet, he would fit it for me for another 25. Drove home with car perfect. Well pleased. :p

I was told that as the wings on '98 fiestas are welded on it would have to be panel-beaten and sprayed. Is this a lot more expensive than replacing the wing?

I told you it was welded on and would have to be cut off and that a replacement wing would cost €24 from Traynors. Ring any of the body shops near you and ask for replacement prices to supply, fit and spray a wing.
