It's heartbreaking. Last night was so painful to watch but when you consider that six months ago the very existance of Rovers looked so very bleak, then it tempers the agony - we still have a club.

As much as it hurts to say so, Dublin City deserved to win over the two legs. There were some strange decisions by Alan O'Neill on the night, but really you can't point the finger at him. It's essential we keep a hold of the true Rovers players like Barry Murphy, Trevor Molloy and Derek Treacy. If we keep them along with the crop of youngster coming through - such as Cathal O'Connor and Cathal Sweetman, then I think we can come straight back up.

Incidentally how did the minutes silence for George Best come over on television? We were late getting in because the Gardai decided to search everyone on the way in - so we were singing and chanting as we waited - which may have unwittingly interupted the tribute. We were told that the kick-off was being delayed but when we got in, the game was well underway.

I suggest you read the charter, as you already should have.

    gutted!!

1st time ever!!! 8points deduction did its job.

ok heres the run down! the fans inside the stadium upheld the silence bar 1 knob end who shouted perv etc, but he got shut up by the srfc faithful. the lads outside sang rovers songs they didn't know that the mins silence was in place.

the game kicked off and from the get go it was all rovers, the tempo was really fast and its fair to say that it looked like it was going to be a riot, but the dubs hung on with just 1 chance to show for their troubles. the ref seemed to be having a poor game for both teams in the 1st half, neither team was given frees in the opposing half

the curse of the poor 2nd half kicked in for rovers and the dubs just looked brighter and after 10 mins robbie scored a scrappy goal, he took it really well, tracey had the immidate answer which begged the question "why couldn't we do that in the 1st half?". the match became exceedingly ominous as time drew on and 4 decent penno calls were dismissed by a sub-standard referee, rovers had a last hurrah but tracey miseed by inches, gavin mcdonnell just collapsed head in hands after that. the reff blew up to a huge pitch invasion the rovers crowd ran to our players to console them, it went a little sour when they martched towards the 200 odd dub city fans singing green flag to em, but it was soon sorted out.

tony sheridan didn't do a tap for most of the match and just gave up after 60 mins, the rovers players were shouting at him, i'd be surprised if he's kept on!!!

it was nice to see rovers play with a little heart for once its been lacking since roddy made the "lucky to make play-offs" remark.

now we have to put up with all sorts of cowboys trying to prove themselves off the field ie. the limerick trip
