    hi,

tried finding this on google but...

is a wireless router basically something that keeps you connected whereever you are in your house?

if so, are there specific types?

i just got ntl broadband today, so would it be a case of simply plugging the cable coming into the house into the wireless router?

sorry if these questions seem dumb...

Generally the cable coming into the house will be plugged into your cable modem, then a network cable from the cable modem to your wireless router. Then you need a wireless card/adapter in every pc you want to connect to it.

You can also get a wireless router with access point built in. that means you just connect the phone line into the router and thats it. You can discard your ADSL modem.
