    Can anyone explain this.

I ran a test this morning downloading linux iso off various reliable ftp sites and the download speed is as shown.

    Linux Download Test
    UK 1 - 20kb/s
    UK 2- 30kb/s
    Japan 1 - 5kb/s
    Japan 2 - 5kb/s
    US 1 - 15kb/s
    US 2 - 12kb/s
    US 3 - 9kb/s
    IE 1 - 40kb/s
    IE 2 - 20kb/s

    Java - 35kb/s
    Itunes - 5kb/s

Attached you will find speed test using isptest and test my showing 70/80kbps. Clean Attachment

But set up download tru bit torrent 2 files and I get 900kbps/100plus kb/s.

This one I cannot figure out.

Could be because BitTorrent opens multiple connections?

Try using a download manager with the .iso's that opens more than one connection to the same site when downloading a single file. (may not work with all sites..)
