Surfing in the east

    Im just wondering if it is possible to surf anywhere in the east of ireland. not too far from dublin

    there's a few spots in waterford but not that great. Heard some things about Brittas but I think it's been kept quiet. If you want good surf you need to go west.

    you can get some good surf in waterford. Try Tramore beach especially if you're a beginner or if you drive out the coast from tramore in the direction of dungarvan there are some great spots along the way, rock bottom (by boatstrand u have to climb donw the cliff) great spot not for beginners, then on to Bunmahon beach can have some good sessions there.
    The west is great for surfing but you can get some great days on the south east coast.

    Don't the pump untreated sewage into the sea at Tramore beach when it's not the Summer months. I wouldn't be into that.

    They do it all year round!
    Its got better as half the beach was closed for the 4 months for the building of a new sewerage treatment plant and the extention of the outlet pipe so the water is now cleaner.
    anyway its not the only place in the country where sewerage is pumped into the ocean there are a few beaches in clare where it happens too!, just so you know!
