    The 57,000 inhabitants of the Arctic island will get fast ADSL2+ connections with speeds of up to 24 megabits per second by the end of the year. Tele Greenland just signed a deal with Siemens, who will deliver the infrastructure. Until recently, many Greenlanders relied on expensive and often awkward satellite links.

    Very high population density has Greenland, very compact indeed. They all live in one skyscraper.

    For me, the more shocking part of that article is the entire island of Iceland losing broadband for 3.5 hours due to the cable cut. The 17th time in 2 years it's been cut!

    I suppose that's what comes with a single point of failure 1,400km long. No wonder they're losing hosted web services.
