Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I know this doesn't quite fall under the juristiction of Waterford city, but I'd appreciate any replies. My bf and his brother are considering getting a broadband subscription for their parents, who live in Portlaw, Co Waterford.

Does anyone here have experience of getting broadband in that area?

I'm a portlaw man myself, and there's a guy who has been trying for broadband out here for ages, but no luck yet, (i dont want to use his name but i'm certain a few of you probably know him by the sounds of things).

But to be honest i dont think theres that many people out here who use the internet that regularly to want it, personally I would love to get it out here, stupid 56k dial-up **shakey-fist**

Also thanks for that link, i've been looking for that with a while now.

A friend of mine has being trying for ages to get broadband out there, but even the cordless ones will not work out there! He was told that a seperate mast for the signal would have to be erected because its down in a valley. So I think you might be snookered out there unless Eircom can help?:(

Eircom will probably just offer their magical Satellite broadband!

Have a look here: http://www.irish-wan.com/, though as another poster said, you're probably out of luck as Portlaw is down in a valley, but you never know. I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for DSL when Eircon can continue to milk you for dialup charges :-(

Well as a broadband user I have to thank all the remaining DSL and ISDN users for funding Eircoms new years upgrade to 2mb/3mb lines and 256k upload
