How many people have a paid subcription?

Yep, another subscriber here.
Considering the crap I've been known to shell out for, my Boards.ie subscription has been money very well spent.

I figure it's the least I can do to keep the whole thing going.

That thread was enough to get me to fork out tbh, so many PM's going along the lines of 'Great taste in music'.
Brought a smile to my face, plus met one or two great people and chatted away to others from that thread since. It shall be missed.

it's like i am google.
Its something you can use instead of a credit card for online transactions.
You can just go into TSB and pick up one, they will give you a number that you can use where people put a cc number.

I would gladly subscribe, but I don't use Paypal and I live outside Ireland so 3V is not available.

IMHO it's shortsighted not to accept credit cards or cheques just because they seem to present some admin work...

As for benifits, the main benifit is 3000 messages allowed. Not gonna have to bother deleting any for a while.

Paypal will allow you to pay using credit card without having to have a paypal account.

I bought a 3 month subscription. I wanted to help out round here, and this is one of the 2 best boards I have found and I have donated to both.

Goes to a good cause IMO.

And to those people that dont have the money, your only kidding yourselves. To actually not want to pay is perfectly fine. €5 is a very little amount. The cost of a pint or a pack of fags.

I subscribed because this is the cheapest form of entertainment ever. Hell I'd easily spend the cost of a years subs in one night in the pub (With boards people, usually about 3~4 years worth).

I subscribed because I got a good deal over on the for sale boards. Figured it would be good karma to spread the lov$. Decided to plump for the whole year - will be renewing it when it's up as well.

Very glad to be able to help out the board which I find to be very helpful and friendly (most of the time. OK, some of the time).

I will subscribe soon. Between this and my previous user account, I have over 4000 posts and almost 5 years on boards.ie... I think it's time I gave something back!

Well in honour of my 3000th post i thought i might give a bit back to old boardsie. One question though, can you only use paypal? Are there any other means of payment?

Mine just ran out a month ago. I'll be subscribing again as soon as my credit card can handle it. Until then, I don't feel so bad as the price of subscription was set because it was roughly the equivalent of a pint a month and I bought a couple of admins drinks at the last beers so I reckon I'm covered for the two months I've not been officially subscribed.
