They can last for hundreds of years I beleive. They can go into suspended animation for when their water source dries up. This is the state you recieve them in when you buy them in a shop, adding water reactivates them and they spring to life...

Wonderful creatures... the females can reproduce without the males if they need too.

You only have to feed them once a week... sheesh.. I hope you don't have children.

EDIT... just checked my old PMs... it was 'gimmick' who received the sea monkeys...

I sent mine this afternoon.

I didn't have any wraping paper at the time, so I just wraped it in a brown envelope.

I'm a little bit concerned about the stupidity of the girl in the post office though. I was sending a few things, some abroad, and the overall cost seemed a little bit cheap. And also she had trouble distinguishing between one enevelope and two...

Grrr... now I'm going to spend the next week or so worrying about all my christmas post... damn you Coolock post office!!!
