Well, this could take us home into the top four again.
What do you think - is this going to be Crouches game?

    :)

crouchy has to score, the game is made up for him. Or away form has slighty improved now and we have the best defence in the premiership bar none.

I predict a 2:0 win for the pool with crouch and kewell scoring.

That'd be fantastic galwaydude - I'll be happy with 1-0 but if Crouch and Kewell can get confidence boosters then that's great.

As I've said before it's very important to get as many points as possible before going to Japan - i.e. win all league games before going and get a draw with Chelsea. That'd see us go to Japan on high spirits and if we do well out there then hopefully we'll get back to the league and hit the ground running.

kewell will be playing as zendon is injured when when he was getting into form. I like the look of kewell now, he gives a bit of balance to the side. Hopefully crouchy can finally score one of the many many chances hes had so far.

I wonder if Rafa will start with Cisse or not (if he travelled)?

    edit http://icliverpool.icnetwork.co.uk/0500liverpoolfc/0100news/tm_objectid=16431771%26method=full%26siteid=50061%26headline=ditched-name_page.html

I think Kewell may partner Crouch..

    Mike.

Hopefully it's not a bananaskin and hopefully we can get ahead reasonably early, it'd be nice to see Potter or someone similar to get a run out, though he was playing the reserve match which was last night. Calliste only played about 75mins so maybe he'll get a runout.

Anyway - should stop talking about this as if it's a Carling Cup formality, we've already been dumped from that!

Peter Crouch will score tonight. 6-4 to score in 90 minutes on Paddypower.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,731 ✭✭✭el rabitos

with 8 games over a couple of weeks or so over xmas, it'll be important to win against sunderland and wigan, its 6 points we're going to need, especially with the world club championship, never know how players will be after it

    ..............reina

    finnan carra hyypia warnock

    gerrard alonso hamann risse

    ........cisse
    ..................crouch

i reckon it'll look something like that

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,390 ✭✭✭galwaydude

what about the man of the moment luis garcia, is he back now?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,267 ✭✭✭p.pete

Replace Kewell for Cisse and you may have it bang on. Cisse not in the squad.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,836 ✭✭✭Vokes

Is Alonso a definite? I wouldn't risk bringing him back so soon, just in case.

Is this game on tv tonight?

Yeah, forgot about Alonso - he may get on as sub but more likely that Sissoko will start.
Originally the game was to be on tv and had to be move on account of Japan, Sunderland wanted to sue us for the loss of revenue :D

think the pool will win this but it wont be as easy as people have been suggesting. i can see a 2-1 win for liverpool with crouchy baggin the winner in the last 20 mins:D

Horrible greedy bastards. They conveniently forgot the kind of genorisity Liverpool showed them in 2003. When Sunderland were relegated from the Premiership they were in dire straits financially. Sunderland owed Liverpool £250,000 for the sale of Stephen Wright but Liverpool opted to forgo payment until Sunderland were back in the Premiership. This when it looked uncertain whether they would be back in the top flight any time soon.

Am thinking then the team might be...
                Reina

    Finnan Carragher Hyypia Warnock

     Gerrard Sissoko Hamann Risse

                Kewell

                Crouch

Alonso is very unlikely to feature, ditto Luis Garcia though he might well be on the bench. Sunderland in November is not thier sort of game comming back from injurey.

Hopefully that'll be the team, although i'd like Nando in there, did domeone say Ciise didnt travel or something? Is Troare injured or has Rafa copped on to what everyone else in the world knows ( that he's ****e) I'm a big Warnock fan and hopefully he hangs on to the left full position.

a 10 million bid for cisse would be more than welcome for cisse in january :)

I thought it was supposed to be shown, what happened.

How come sky are showing wigan - newcastle, I would have thought that with the Best tribute at Old Trafford and all, they would have shown Utd.

Alonso, Garcia and Mori ALL playing! *raises an eyebrow*

Im expecting nothing less than a 3-0 win now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,147 ✭✭✭Ronan|Raven

Wouldnt be so sure of a 3-0 win, Sunderland are in desperate need of points and there is always the chance they will come good and put in a resolute display tonight.

Kewell really impressed me in the last game. It would be great if he began to show promise again.

I would'nt be so confident, Freezing cold evening matches away in Newcastle aren't exactly where Spanish players feel at home.

Dissapointed Warnock isnt playeing, for the exact opposite to the above reasons .These are the kinds of games youwant hard grafting english players.

Last nights Doncaster - Villa game was a prime example.

Bah, pissed about this not being on Sky. Was looking forward to it :/

    1-0, Garcia

    Oh no, thats Ciise.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,067 ✭✭✭✭Tusky

Was supposed to be a lovely goal. Cant wait to see the highlights.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,067 ✭✭✭✭Tusky

    2-0!

Gerrard with assist from Alonso, by sounds of it, Alonso made both goals so far!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,316 ✭✭✭ButcherOfNog

2-0 Gerrard with the 2nd, both goals setup by Alonso, good to have him back.

That puts us in 4th if it stays like that or gets better, only 2 points off 2nd, and 12 points behind Chelsea with a game in hand. Lookin good so far :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,836 ✭✭✭Vokes

2-0 from Gerrard. Alonso with a 2nd assist!

My 3-0 prediction may just come true :)

Yeah listening to it here, hate having to do so because those two muppets who present the show are the most clueless idiots ever to sit in front of a microphone.

Good to see those namby-pamby Spaniards are able for it! :D

Sounds like Sissoko is being a bit er fiesty.

    Kewell on Nando off.

Sissoko off, two yellow cards. Suprised Rafa did'nt take him off earlier....

What an idiot, sissoko better get his act together.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Agh! Crouch off Traore on. Ah c'mon Rafa thats not funny, unless its so Riise can play right wing and let Luis Garcia attack?

crouch is our equivalent of Forlan while at Utd :( but with better support play :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,247 ✭✭✭✭Guy:Incognito

I'd like to retract my earlier comment re: rafa copping on to Traore's crapness. Grr this particular one makes me so angry. Traore looks like a new born foal, he's so bandy.

    kaimera wrote:

He really has no excuse at this stage, he's getting chances, it's all down to him. I stand by my view at the start of the season:bad buy.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Well it was slightly harder work than it should have been but 2-0 will do, good to see Luis Garcia on the scoresheet on his return.

    We're fourth w00t! :D

    Mike.
