Anyone know any good sites to get free sheet music. Preferably modern, not classical, I have loads of classical stuff.
Google isn't giving any good sites. I really just want things like Coldplay, Radiohead, U2 maybe Queen etc.
If you don't know any free sites, do you know any sites that sell sheet music at decent prices? I don't like forking out 30 quid for a book of bout 15 songs, half of which I'll never play.

I find sheet music for modern pieces is devilishly difficult to find. What you could try doing is getting some sort of Score-writing program that can open up .midis, then, ahem, finding the midis of the songs you need.

You'll probably have to pay to get anything decent, i've found amazon.co.uk to be good, also www.sheetmusicplus.com,
Even at that its hit or miss whether the music you'll get is a dumbed down version of the real thing (i.e. with a simple melody arrangement for piano solo) or the actual backing piano you can hear on the song. I've found in general anything published by Hal Leonard is good quality.
theres also a site where you can share sheetmusic for free but ive forgotten it, you might find it on google.
Alternatively there are loads of sites that give basic chords which is a good start!

    I recently came across www.sheetmusicdirect.com

It will give a one page preview of songs, which, with some modern songs is enough (main riff & chord sequence) Alternatively, you can buy individual songs for a few euro, downloaded onto your pc, and do all matter af fancy stuff with it (transpose key, play midi etc.)

And on this note, does anyone know how to find if a band has released sheet music for a song? I'm looking for space-dye vest by dream theater, the piano is gorgeous, and I reckon I could play it.

You need pianofiles.com . Its a list of peoples emails and the sheets they have. Just send a generic email to about 5 different people and you're bound to get one reply
