Ok, there's a possibility of Enda Kenny coming to our school next week.

A few of us have to come along and ask a few questions, but I can't think of anything at the minute.

Any ideas? Just something to put him on the spot.

Since he's in a school doing the "Uncle Enda" routine challenge him about his support for ASBOs which will criminalise the youth, as well as his plans to create areas where young people are prohibited from gathering.

No it won't. Being young will not become a criminal offence. And ASBO's (if properly implemented) might, ya know, lower anti-social behavior.
as well as his plans to create areas where young people are prohibited from gathering.
Certainly in some situations that's a logical thing to do.

ThatGuy: ask him why exactly he thinks removing the compulsion of Irish post-Junior Cert is a good thing.

Ask Enda why is he not ripping into Ahern and Traitor Harney, This man has the power to really drive a wedge between this government and the electorate.

What? And alienate the PD's? That'd surely destroy any chance of them coalescing..

    I got the Powaaaah.

Hard to beat early Snap! netwhiz.

Anyway, for someone like Enda I'd ask whether he relates more to Seinfeld, Costanza, Kramer or Newman. Keep it light and breezy, just as he likes it...

As a Seinfeld fan, I love it.

    Some youth-centric topics:

How does he feel about this proposed 'ban' on hoodies?
Irish not being compulsory after leaving cert - is he going to make it a party policy? (because he bloody well should! - it'll get my vote)
    ASBO's too, as said above...

On the FG website they have a list of airy fairly waffle about how great they are. One of their statements is "Fine Gael wants to create a fair and caring society where everybody is engaged in democracy, and where there are no barriers to equal opportunity. Fine Gael stands for investment in our public services and sees health and education as rights, not privileges."

Ask him why Fine Gael believes claiming health is a right will change the realities of the health service that has absorbed massive increases in spending whilst still apparently being ineffective according to common belief - and FGs stated view is the health service is rubbish. If he believes that FG can bring some fresh approach that will fix health, why didnt they implement this approach the last time they were in government and fix the health service then? And if he claims that FG were in fact well on the road to fixing the health service remind him that the electorate disagreed as FG were voted out.

You probably will not get the opportunity to do that however, because hell talk right over you and browbeat you down or move on quick to the next person, so youll more than likely have to take a deep breath and dont give him a second to reply until youve done the whole spiel.

Or you could simply ask him why FG, a party seen to be center right in economic thinking , that states "Fine Gael stands for a vibrant, competitive economy. To that end, we believe Government policy should encourage initiative and reward hard work, thus driving economic activity and creating jobs." is attempting to enter government with the Labour party which holds views that sit uncomftably with that FG tenet. Can he envision leading a government with a clear political and economic philosophy or will FG always be the "Not Fianna Fail" party?

Beats the SFIRA policy on anti social youths tbh. Beats it black and blue.

Ant or Dec is a good ice-breaker, seriously though, ask him if he could name any major difference in policy between Fine Faille and Fine Geal and then challenge him on the true roots of the 1916 rising.

Ask him if he ever considered going into a career as a stand-up comedian?

    i.e. The Patrice Lumumba "joke".

    [in a mood today]

Ask him why he's prepared to fully open the Western Rail Corridor at massive expense to the taxpayer when

    a) There's no business case presented
    and
    b) The report that investigated the merits of the WRC said that most of it wouldn't be feasible

My advice is to ask him a question on something that you're interested in.

He's used to people trying to catch him out and will be able for it. Take the opportunity to find out what he thinks about the issues you're interested in and that'll help you decide wheather or not you want to vote for his party when you get the chance.
