I should have probably added that my friend got hopped on out of nowhere, another got sucker punched and at the start it was about 7 of them on 3 of my friends. They went for the smallest person in the group who ended up with a black eye, gash above his eye and a chipped tooth. All this for absolutely nothing. So, next time you feel holier-than-thou, at least know the full story to save yourself from looking like a prick

My 18th was smack bang in the middle of the leaving cert.
Still, got to enjoy the leaving cert parties.

Had a house party with loads of friends over...hired a bouncing castle, marquee, trampoline, barbeque, loads and loads of drink...loads of drunk ppl

My birthday was the day of the leaving cert English papers , and fell on a monday, and a guy a year below me hung himself hours before, so it was a birthday in date only unfortunately.....:(

Still got absolutely smashed straight after my last exam though...:o

Not mine but my son's was on a Thursday night a couple of weeks ago. Went out family dinner.

Met him in pub later to buy him his first "Legal" pint. He told me it was tradition but think he was just lookin for a couple of freebies :-)

He also had a party in the house the next night (Friday) with live band, keg, food etc.

went to dinner with friends and then went to a nightclub, was so annoyed i wasnt asked for id at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yea i wasnt asked either, and you're so proud of being old enough to be asked that first night

slightly OT, sorry, but it annoyed me that i had to wait til i actually turned 18 to apply for age card, then got to wait for 6 weeks for it to arrive, so i had to take passport out with me :mad:

Bunch of people from my first year house and I all went out to a kareoke bar where the plan was to all buy me a drink (only one did).


Nobody sang and we left in two hours. Not a terribly successful night in terms of fun, craaaazy happenings really. First year was quite the let down
