Madonna plagiarising again?

Last week I read about Madonna being sued for plagiarism for the song 'Frozen':

Today I heard the Abba song, Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight) and it has the exact same tune thing in the background as Madonna's 'Hung Up' (Diddle-Dee, Diddle-Doooooooo).
Is it possible to take a small tune like this from a song? Has she got permission?

Yes, she went to Abba and they said she could use it. Abba usually don't give permission for sampling though.

Madonna herself has been sampled loads of time too, of course.

She also sampled the Jackson's "Can you feel it?" on her new record.

I disagree. It sounds completely out of place with the backbeat of the song. A possible answer would have been to take the riff and replicate it with a more modern sound if she was that keen to pay dues to Abba.

Apparently, Guy walked out on Madonna's new album saying it was rubbish. Would loved to have been a fly on the wall in their home that night.

Abba only gave 1 more band permission to sample one of their master recordings and that was The Fugees back in 2000. Many people cover their material but the original recordings are closely guarded even though they are said to get hundreds of sampling requests per year.
